Bricks 4 Kidz: Forces of Nature: Horizon

Where can your child develop teamwork, creativity and problem-solving? Is there a place where they can play and socialize with friends... and learn at the same time? How about unwinding after school without zoning out in front of the TV? Bricks 4 Kidz® after-school classes build on the universal popularity of LEGO® bricks to deliver a high quality of educational play. Each hour-long class is a fun, enriching experience for your child. Kids build a new project each week using the classic bricks loved by generations of children. Our unique models aren?t the kits you find on the shelves of a toy store. They're designed by Bricks 4 Kidz® to teach concepts across a variety of subject areas. Each unit is based on engaging themes such as space, inventions, famous buildings and more. We kick things off with a discussion about key concepts related to the model, then get right into the building. Working with a partner, your child will experience the hands-on fun of seeing a model come together piece by piece, from concept to completion. And by using one project kit to create dozens of models, kids learn that with a little imagination and resourcefulness, they can use what you have to create something amazing. Min.10  Max 20 students

       Forces of Nature

Fasten your seatbelts; we're in for some wild weather! This unit is all about the amazing and powerful forces of nature, as students explore the when, where, how and why of all kinds of natural phenomenon. There is a lot of geography in this unit -- we?ll examine a map of the Pacific "Ring of Fire" where most tsunamis occur, view a diagram of the tectonic plates and learn how their movement creates earthquakes, define the area known as "Tornado Alley" in North America, and find out what hurricanes are called in different parts of the world. These lessons are designed to improve your child's understanding of the forces of nature, while taking care not to alarm. Each model represents the motion of that particular weather or event, with a seat for a mini-figure to take in the action! Take cover because we're about to take a trip through some wild weather! Kids will love to build moving models of a tornado, a tsunami, an earthquake and a cyclone. Learn how they move, why they happen and what you can do to stay safe!
