Ms. Jen's Trauma-Sensitive Schools Training in Des Moines, Iowa (Level I-II)

Come to the beautiful Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden in Des Moines, Iowa this fall to attend Ms. Jen's Trauma-Sensitive Schools Training. Jen Alexander's book Building Trauma-Sensitive Schools: Your Guide to Creating Safe, Supportive Learning Environments for All Students was released in February of 2019, and Ms. Jen is excited to offer this final Level I and Level II training for the year 2019. If you are ready to move beyond increasing awareness of childhood trauma and learn what to do to help the at least one in four students in every single classroom, every day, who is having school success negatively impacted by advertisty, this is the training for you! In Ms. Jen's level I training on Friday, November 15, 2019 from 8:30-4:00 CST, educators, mental health professionals, caregivers, and other stakeholders will learn what trauma is, identify the many ways childhood trauma can impact youth, and learn how to help students succeed. By exploring what works and why when it comes to building trauma-sensitive environments, you will be ready to begin to implement new strategies that will help you help all kids. Cost for the 1-day training is $199. Early bird pricing of $150 is available until October 1, 2019. (A light breakfast will be provided. Lunch will be on your own with time to either enjoy vibrant downtown Des Moines or stay, eat at the restaurant on site, and explore the indoor Botanical Garden.) ** Note: Early bird pricing for everyone has been extended to October 31, 2019 in order to accommodate requests by districts who are sending teams! ** In Ms. Jen's level II training on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 8:30-4:00 CST, participants will dive deeper into learning how to utilize trauma-informed RTI to meet the needs of all youth. Specifically, attendees will learn how to incorporate Ms. Jen's River of Feelings visual and its accompanying activities as well as trauma-sensitive mindfulness practices - all according to different tiers of support. Come ready to create a plan for change. Sign up for this training if you have attended a previous Ms. Jen Level I training, which would include the one offered on Friday, November 15, 2019. Cost for the 1-day training is $199. Early bird pricing of $150 is available until October 1, 2019. (A light breakfast will be provided.
